Do you prefer to have collars on the dogs you're photographing, or let them go naked? (Taking into account the location and temperament of the dog, of course!)

I definitely prefer naked! Sometimes if the collar isn't *just* right it can cause funky parts/patterns in the fur which doesn't look very nice. The D-ring and buckle can also reflect a lot of light so depending on where your light source is, they can easily become overexposed and just be eyesores.

I generally agree I'm all for the naked dogs! Although I do think there are occasional moments when it works ... If you were photographing someone else's dog, do you think it would be fair to ask them to either remove or change their dogs collar for the shoot?

I like collars on my own dogs because they both have so many very nice collars and tags which are photograph worthy!

Doesn't make much difference with Danny, most of the time you can't tell whether he's wearing one or not!
I would say it depends on the situation, I think in a less natural/training environment a collar looks quite fitting but on a windswept field in the middle of nowhere then collar off definitely looks best.
