This is for Ree, since she asked. i've never seen a pentax dslr, whenever i hear of them i always assume they look old and like film cameras - and since i'm too lazy to look them up, do they look pretty similar to the nikons/canons/sonys? or do they have a different style in look? (and how modern are they? sorry but all i know if are the basic dslr's, sorry for being such a retard!)
have you ever used a nikon/canon, how would you say it is in comparisson to your pentax? I use a Pentax K-x www.pentaximaging.com/slr/K-x_Black/It's essentially just the same as any other entry-level DSLR, biggest selling point being that it shoots 4.7fps, which is what appealed to me! It's a little smaller/lighter than the Canons/Nikons, partially because it's "missing" some "non-essentials" - like focus points on the viewfinder (you can set them, just not see them), and it's has a noisy zoom rather than a silencer on the motor. The biggest difference is that it runs off 4 AA batteries. I love this, personally - because I'm off camping so much through competing with my dogs, I don't have electric and can't recharge. Can buy new AAs at any supermarket though!

Nice! I may have to recommend this to some friends who are just wanting a basic family camera and nothing more. I am looking into getting a Pentax film camera soon. Either that or an Olympus Epic. Not sure which yet.
