We have CS5 at school, too and well, it's even a bit different from the CS4 I've got at home. The zoom is so different now, haha. Wouldn't it be in the selection tools when you press the little triangle or press and hold? I didn't really use it much in the last class I took, so I don't know for sure.

i use cs4 even though i have access to cs5 but... i'm not sure about switching because i just about killed myself going from cs3 to cs4 (i miss cs3 ). my mom works at adobe so yay free programs i also have lightroom and i like to use it when I have to edit photos in bulk (quickly cropping/changing the temperature/etc) or if i just have to adjust the temperature in general or want to play with easier stuff than photoshop XD

Just updated the OS on my Mac and was forced to switch from CS2 to CS5 because 2 was no longer supported. I like it okay so far. Just hate that I have to relearn where everything is now. I had just finally gotten everything down with CS2 and it was all for nothing lol.

nicole: if it's not there right click on quick selection tool. am i one of the few people who love cs5 then? i didn't really find it that much of a transition from cs3, but then i also use psp7 so i'm used to everything working differently.

I'm a CS5 lover too, it's my favourite. Unfortunately I'm stuck with the trial version at the moment as my computer has just been brought back from the dead, so it's back to Photoshop 7 for me shortly (I'm not sure if I'll cope!)
My favourite thing is the tabs button, switching to Photography mode makes doing mass edits so much easier.

What features do you guys find most useful in CS5? I use Elements 7 and Lightroom 3, and have gotten some pretty good results so I'm not entirely convinced I want to fork out the money for CS5. Opinions please!

Same here, I would love to own CS5 but right now I don't see the "need" I have adobe elements 9 with lots of actions I got. I would rather put my money into lens right nowvr. CS5. The only difference Iheard from elements and CS's if the majic wand and I have that in my elements. Opinions on difference?]
Edit for: Oh the only other hting I heard was you can do really nice work with HDR's but I don't normally do them.

Was unaware that one could process HDRs in PS. I thought PhotoMatix was the only software for that. Interesting!
Bridget do you know if PS actions are usable in Elements 7?

Um depends on the photographer thats making the actions, some say elements 6 and newer. So it depends but all the places I've seen is at least 7 or newer so you should be fine(: I love pure photoshop actions, they are awesome!!(:

so just out of interest, can people do this kind of thing "by hand" or would you rely in an action?
